A dedicated youth mental health professional and school district team member, Tara uses her real-world experiences to craft meaningful children’s books that spark conversations, teach life lessons, and bring families closer together.
Meet Tara Eddins – the heart behind the stories.
Tara Eddins holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and works with youth every day through her roles with the Ypsilanti School District and Washtenaw County Community Mental Health. While writing wasn't her first passion, a pivotal moment on her school bus with a special needs student inspired her to write her first children's book—marking the beginning of a meaningful new journey.
Motivated by her desire to support parents and caregivers, Tara writes stories that spark conversations, strengthen bonds, and entertain young readers while weaving in important life lessons. Whether addressing emotions, safety, or key developmental milestones, her books create teachable moments that stay with children long after the last page.
Tara is the author of Kiran’s Day of Learning and The Adventures of Detective Riah. To learn more or explore her work, visit www.taraebooks.org.
